The French that is spoken in the country of Lacrosse will be based on the French language that is spoken in standard Paris, but it has different differences that are minor in vocabulary such as the other French dialects in Asia. Different mixes can be added to the language from Laotian to French, this gives it a very local flavour. Some of these words are introduced in French. There are notable differences between French and Laotian, they are the following:

  • Word rue: used to refer to a street, a highway or an avenue, but in French, it can be used as a boulevard,
  • Incorporation of Laotian words: refers to all native sites such as food and flat for example.
